This sounds interesting! Let’s find out more from Huffington Post: Cosmopolitan Australia  had a family reunion of sorts in its August issue, bringing together two sisters kept separate in fashion mags due to their different sizes. Both Courtney and Laura Wells are models, but Laura is plus-size and usually relegated to special spreads. In this editorial, both girls show off the season’s trends on their slim and curvy bodies. In case you’re curious, Laura is a size 14 (AUS) and Courtney is a size 10 (AUS). Even though some wouldn’t really call Kelly’s figure a challenging one (to dress), the glamour model / actress explains that: Finding clothes that suit my curvy shape has been a struggle in the past. When I was younger, I was a trend follower without really thinking if it suited my body shape. Now, rather than following what other people are doing, I stick to accentuating my waist, as it balances out my hips and boobs. When I started getting into modelling as a teenager, I wasn’t your typical gazelle with petite perky breasts or an androgynous waif. I was 5ft 6in with 36in hips, a 25in waist and large boobs , so I really struggled to begin with — I was the wrong girl, wrong time. But then I looked for work in areas of the media that would accept me, such as pop videos. Even though she isn’t as voluptuous as her boobylicious colleague Christina Hendricks, Mad Men ’s January Jones is an advocate for curvy women, especially since the producers of the show encourage sustainable ‘meat and curves’ on their actresses’ bodies – more info via Daily Mail: January Jones, who plays long-suffering housewife Betty Draper in the Emmy award-winning TV drama, says its creator Matthew Weiner agrees – telling female members of the cast to avoid strenuous exercise in order to maintain their curves and avoid muscle definition. The 32-year-old actress says Weiner, anxious to echo the curvier silhouette of the show’s early Sixties era, is as demanding as any magazine editor or fashion designer  – but with a difference. ‘He would prefer we didn’t work out and that we eat really well, so we look like healthy women,’ she says. The actress, whose looks are often compared to Grace Kelly’s, says she is pleased the show has brought back the idea that ‘it’s OK to have curves and be a woman. I wish more women would realise that’s what men like’. She admits to loving ‘beer and carbs’ and says she is now quite taken with her curves after producers admonished her last year for being too thin. ‘Beleza Em Curvas’, meaning ‘Beauty and Curves’ is a new Brazilian Magazine which is targeted to plus-size women – and it’s the first of its kind! For the 3rd time this year, recently slimmer Crystal Renn is featured in V Magazine. In this shoot, a desaturated Crystal goes topless and shows off her curves in lacey bodysuits. And a piece of news: Crystal was included in ‘Top 50 Women Models’ on Models.com on number 36 – she is the only ‘plus-size’ (read above size 4) model from the chart. The reason: “With back to back issues of Vogue Paris, serious rotation in V magazine, a Gaultier campaign this season and runway presence for Gaultier and Chanel the message is clear. 2 weeks ago, we were shocked to see ‘plus-size’ model Crystal Renn in 2 photos that featured a much skinnier version of the model and some found it hard to believe that Crystal was still a size 10 US. Well, a pre-Photoshop photo of Crystal taken during the photo-shoot surfaced (see above) and once again, congrats (not) to the airbrusher! Here’s what he had to say (from Glamour): Photographer Nicholas Routzen explained that Crystal looks the way she does because the photos were “…taken from a higher angle with a wider lens.” But he also added, “I shaped her…I did nothing that I wouldn’t do to anyone. I’m paid to make women look beautiful. ” And how did Crystal feel about her digital makeover? Well, I was shocked. When I saw the pictures, I think I was silent for a good five minutes, staring with my mouth open. I don’t know what was done to those photos or who did it, but they look retouched to me. And listen, everybody retouches, but don’t make me into something I’m not. That body doesn’t look like my body. It doesn’t. Having had an eating disorder, I know what that very thin body looks like on me, and it’s not something I find attractive. It’s not something I aspire to. I feel completely confident in my own health because I know I don’t look like that, but even to see it in an image was really disturbing to me.
